Mr. Samuel Jinapor is to serve as the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources pending parliamentary approval. His name was part of the list of 46 sector and regional ministers released by the President yesterday, Thursday, January 21, 2021. PepsiCo Doubles Down on Climate Goal and Pledges Net-Zero Em

On January 14th, 2021, PepsiCo, Inc. announced plans to more than double its science-based climate goal, targeting a reduction of absolute greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its value chain by more than 40% by 2030. In addition, the company has pledged to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040, one decade earlier than called for in the Paris Agreement. Specifically, PepsiCo plans to reduce absolute GHG emissions across its direct operations (Scope 1 and 2) by 75% and its indirect value chain (Scope 3) by 40% by 2030 (2015 baseline). This action is expected to result in the reduction of more than 26 million metric tons of GHG emissions or the equivalent of taking more than five million cars off the road for a full year.

Mr. Samuel A. Jinapor is a politician, a dedicated member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and a qualified Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana. He graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, and specialised in Biomedical Physics. His intellectual thirst and political aspirations led him to enrol to be trained as a lawyer – a goal he accomplished successfully. Consequently, he was called to the Ghana Bar in 2012. As a newly enrolled lawyer, he undertook his pupillage with the reputable Messrs. Kulendi @ Law, an Accra-based commercial and corporate law firm, from October 2012 to August 2013. He studied under the tutelage of the renowned lawyer, Yonny Kulendi, who is now a Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana.
